Yoga + Movement

Detroit & A2 Ecstatic Dance Journey

Ecstatic Dance, AKA Conscious Clubbing, is a consent based movement practice that encourages music to be your intoxicant. Whether you’re any good at dancing or not is irrelevant — this is simply about letting go, “releasing the beast”, gently releasing, or moving freely in any way you wish, by being true to yourself. To move freely in our dances is about expression, not perfection. We set judgment aside, of ourselves, and others. Judgment usually requires punishment. Instead, we use Discernment in listening to what our minds and bodies need in each moment. Show up for yourself and others, close your eyes, take a deep breath and move with us through this supportive journey.

Charity Loring, LMSW. Charity is a Licensed Mental Health Therapist, Dance Therapist and has a passion for helping people create a mind and body connection within themselves by offering opportunities to create self trust and community trust/support. Charity facilitates a safe and empowering container in opening circle, throughout the dance, and closing circle.

SUP Yoga + Paddle Tours

Channel your watery ways with Sally Lyons and Ryan Richardson during their Stand Up Paddle (SUP) Yoga class. This class meets in Healing Village, but takes place on the water! Paddle to a totally gnarly secluded destination for a bit of cowabunga and a lot of asana.

SweetWater Yoga was founded in 2014 by certified SUP Yoga instructor, @sal_lyons and RYT 200. Her love of yoga and water easily came together and her vision of SUP Yoga was clear. Classes began on her home base lake of Clark Lake and since then has expanded to various bodies of water in Michigan and Ohio. SweetWater has a variety of amazing teachers who will be sharing their gifts on the water at Divine Pine Gathering again this year. Sally continues to be honored and humbled by those interested in SUP Yoga and wants everyone to experience the sweet summer bliss it has to offer. She promises it is easier than it looks but does encompass what yoga teaches us.. to be focused on breath and present moment. Shivasana on a paddleboard is one of her favorite places to be. Sally is looking forward to sharing the unique, serene practice once again at the Divine Pine Gathering.

Traditional Hatha-Yoga -- Treading spiritual path, using body as an instrument.

In this workshop we learn yoga poses important in Hatha-Yoga practice. Poses are held for long and that can be demanding, physically and mentally. We also practice three pranayama and kriyas, which lead everyone inwards, and meditate including occasional Sanskrit chanting in the background.

I started my yoga practice in India right from my middle school. It was taught in my school as a part of our physical training. I was in love with yoga right from my very first class and very first posture! I continued and started exploring yoga right from school days and my practice evolved and expanded beyond the physical aspects. While I was in college I started "Pranayama" and meditations. I studied and experimented with many different "Pranayama" and meditations. I started teaching Yoga in India, from 1994.After coming to the US, I started blending my yoga teaching and yoga practice as well more in tune with modern yoga while keeping my "inner yoga" (i. e. Pranayama, meditation etc) close to the original practice. I completed my 200hr YTT at the Center for Yoga of Johnny Kest. Continued 300 YTT at Hilltop Yoga Studio in Lansing with Hilaire Lockwood. I practice and teach Vinyasa, Slow-flow, and especially traditional Hatha-yoga.

Live Music & Vinyasa

Join us for Vinyasa yoga taught by Kate Burns accompanied by live music curated by yogi and musician Matt Rozensky. Pairing specific music with yoga can be an extraordinary experience. Research has shown that listening to music can reduce anxiety, blood pressure, and pain as well as improve sleep quality, mood, mental alertness, and memory. Yoga is a 90 minute vinyasa flow, with meditation and extended savasana.

Kate was trained by Hilaire Lockwood at Hilltop Yoga in Lansing, MI. Kate taught for many years at Yoga DeeplyArt in Jackson, Mi with her dear friend & teacher, Avé Veneklasen. Her teaching honors all eight limbs of yoga, including a deep emphasis on movement as medicine as well as meditation and stillness. Turning inward is the true teacher. Kate aims to keep true to the ancient traditions of yoga and honor the lineage passed down to her from her teachers.

This will be my third DPG, and I am proud to admit that I met the love of my life and now fiancee on the land in 2017.

The Yoga Nidra Experience

Yoga Nidra is essentially a yogic or psychic sleep. It is a practice in which you lay down and are guided by my voice. I will be directing your awareness throughout the mind, body, breath, senses and emotions and adding Reiki energy healing throughout the practice, bringing you your mind, body & spirit into alignment. We will create a coherence within, offering healing to anyone who attends.

Divine intervention led Juliana to the beginning of her healing journey in the fall of 2003. After a profound experience attending a wellness conference in 2018 and returning home, Juliana dedicated time learning the healing art of Reiki and completed 60+ hours of Yoga Nidra training in Canada with Jana Roemer. Juliana’s life experience reinforces her vision and mission to awaken an energy and empower her clients to discover unique gifts and abilities within, aligning to their divine purpose. Witnessing the ripple effect in the lives of others and her own, she now trusts “everybody and everything is energy.

Connected Concentration: Guided relaxation & meditation

Practice will begin with very gentle stretches and deep breathing to help us settle into our body and receive the support of the foundation. I will offer invitations to relax the physical, mental and spiritual bodies based in the tradition of yoga nidra. We will then share a few moments of silent meditation to observe the mind and will gradually ease back into our physical surroundings. Practice will close with Sanskrit mantra and chanting.

Colleen (she/her/hers) is a yoga and meditation teacher with over 10 years of experience. Her yoga practice is informed by 20 years of experience in environmental education and motivated by the need for healing and reconnection between humans and nature. The intentional movement, deep breath work, relaxation, and concentration of yoga guide us toward union, justice, and liberation by inviting us to honor our interdependence with each other and the vital life forces that flow between us.
